October 10, 2003I'm debating on selling my f-150 for a f-250. My 150 is a regular cab with the 4.2 and a manual. I really like the truck, but I see a need arising for a tow vehicle. (approximately 8000 lb trailer setup) I was looking to the f-250 or f-350, same regular cab, manual transmission. I drive approximately 2500 miles per month for work. I'm trying to figure out how terrible the MPG will be in either the 5.4 or the 6.8 gas engines with the manual tranmission. Diesel is pretty much out because of $$$ up front. My dad gets about 13-14 mpg in his extra cab 4x4 150 with the 5.4. I'd like a consistant 16 mpg on the highway, at least 14 city (my 4.2 gets 20 and 18 ). Is that possible with the V8 or the V10 with a manual? or am I smoking crack again
I have a company gas card, but I'm sure there is a limit to what they will pay I could just hear my boss saying sarcastically..."Gee Mitch, that's a nice V10 pickup you've got there. I see you're making good use of our gas card..."
