May 24, 2007I recently purchased this unit and installed in my F-250 with zero problems. I decided to trade the truck so I took the unit out. Yesterday I put it in my new F-150 screw and it went in and worked fine. This morning I drove down to a tint shop and it worked fine. The guy that did the tint said he shut the unit off so it wouldn't be on while he was working on the truck. When he finished and drove the truck back around to the front he tried to turn it back on and it wound't turn back on. Once I got home I tried everything I could think of including checking connections, fuses, rewiring the power and ground wires and even resetting the unit, nothing worked (stock unit works fine). The only thing that happens when you hit the power button is you can hear some type of servo moving and that's it.
When I hooked it up yesterday I remember seeing the word "key" flash for a few seconds and then the unit started working so I figured it was nothing. Does anyone know if that has something to do with it? Maybe some type of anti theft thing? My manual doesn't address this at all.
Does anyone know of thing else I can try before I send it in to JVC???
