January 19, 2011I just returned HID to company that it wasn`t work very well on my 2006 Ford Expedition. So I thought about try the silverstar ultra, but I want to see other`s opinion. Any better lighting advice? Need better vision at night. I would like to get HID again, but I`m afraid to order one and it still the same problem. Any advice would great!

January 20, 2011Alan, depending on when you want the lighting, it may be worthwhile to look into a set of "driving" lights. They would mount on the front of your truck kinda like fog lights, but you could aim them to be more like headlights. Some states are picky with these lights, others aren`t.
The nice thing about the driving lights is if you get certain ones, you can go up to a 150W bulb. Now, the downside to this is that you could only use them when on a back road and all by yourself (needless to say, blinding people would be occurring). If you are looking for something for daily driving, then HIDs are your best choice and going with a higher end unit may be required. Some vehicles can handle HIDs better than others. I know my Jag handles the HIDs with no problems as I have HIDs in the main lights and in my fog lights. I`m even considering mounting a set of 50 or 80 watt HIDs in for my high beams (that will leave a mark on your retnas).

January 29, 2011Thermo- I understand what you mean by add some driving light. But why would someone put driving lights on the bumper on an Expedition King Ranch? Unless someone is truly redneck. LOL well I don`t think I want to drill holes on my bumper and install driving lights on the bumper. That would make it look stupid. That just my opinion.
February 15, 2011check out this site! i bought mine there IntenseHID.com or intenseHIDs.com they work great and they are very simple to install make sure you get the BI Xeon so you can have highs and lows i think i paid like 150ish. the true white ones are amazing. great experience with them. also they have a awesome warranty plan they sent me a new set when i dunked my front of the truck in a monster puddle and soaked the relay. i highly recommend them.
February 16, 2011Thanks for the info Sam. I just bought mine from DDM Tuning. Their warranty are awesome. Lifetime Warranty. Only cost me $43 for HID. I didn`t need the bi-xenon because single beam are bright enough for me. I also have hid in the fog lights also. So I didn`t want to pay 150ish for one hid. I got 2 hid for around $85.
