March 31, 2005What kinds of mods will help boost my gas mileage? Will changing the intake and exhaust help or hurt my gas mileage? Thanks.

March 31, 2005Buy an Escort or Focus if you want better mileage
Even the mods that do give a minimal MPG increase usually have about a 2 year payback period. It's not like you can drop $100 and save that in a couple of weeks.
March 31, 2005The answer is yes. They will help. But, as stated, the return takes a while to come back to ya. If in fact it ever does. Temptation being what it is, many of us just love the sound of that new exhaust/intake and kinda stick our foot in it a bit. Thereby negating any increase we might otherwise have seen.
March 31, 2005In the majority of cases, the mods you put on won't save you any. Most of the time, you end up putting more foot into it and wasting more because the truck sounds better and gives you better performance!
I use my wifes car for better gas mileage!
March 31, 2005tow your truck with a hybrid civic
(j/k I couldn't resist being a smart*** I spend $100 a week on gas)
March 31, 2005The 1715 tuner set at tow perf gets me an extra 30 miles or so per tank but I need to use 91 octane so no real improvement.
March 31, 2005This will save big on gas, but will drop your horse power BIG time.
March 31, 2005Intake, exhaust, tonneau cover, chip all help. But only if you keep your foot out of it...and if you're like me the temptation is too great to do that!
April 1, 2005i spent $45 on gas every three weeks. I live 4 mi from school and i have a v6 with mods.
April 1, 2005completly shave the truck, that way there won't be as much wind resistance. after about 5 years, you might have been able to save enough to fill up the tank for free
April 1, 2005FordF350, that looks like "COW POWER" to me
