August 19, 2005i belive it advances the timeing and increases the cylinder pressure so you can have a rod in the side of your block. it can be used safely. MSD just relesed a system that looks good and seems safe. maybe some one else will reply that know alot more than me.
August 19, 2005propane by itself isnt bad, as said it burns the rest of the diesel, adds power and adds mileage. where propane creates problems is being ran with a hot chip with advanced timing, especially on pmr motors. propane used on a stock truck for towing is a pretty good mod, but as a monster power adder, its just a little old school. nitrous and water meth are really safer and more efficient ways to add more power to an already modded motor, i.e chip, injectors, turbo etc. do your homework and see if its really right for you.
