August 21, 2005Go to auto Zone, get the code numbers and come back to post them up. Whatever you do, do not, take the guys advice who pulls them. Most of them will just throw an O2 sensor at it if it has anything to do with the emmissions or gas.

Make sure you get the actual code numbers. Do not let them tell you o it's and emissions code you need and O2. We need the code numbers to help you diagnose it properly. Have you recently gotten gas by the way? It may be possible you did not get the cap on all the way. Go get the codes and post them here. Make sure you take a pen and paper and write them down.
August 21, 2005for the life of me I cant remember how to do it...but im pretty sure if you have a digital odometer, you can bring up all the codes that your truck has thrown. I know you can do some pretty cool things with it, but like I said I cant remember how. It has something to do with turning the key back, and holding the reset button on the odometer, and then starting the truck...but I dont remember all the steps. Maybee somebody else will remember.
but if that works, you can get the code and call the dealership to find out what it means.
August 21, 2005^^^ Heres the link for that http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/dtcodes.htm
It says HEC Instrument Cluster Diagnostics
(99 and 2000 models) but it might work for others
August 21, 2005needyone,
yup thats it! thanks for the link, I just saved it in my favorites.
that is all you should need to do to get your code, I just liked it to play with the digi tach and speedo.
August 21, 2005Isn't YOUR 2002 Beast still under warranty? My 99 f150 4.6 light came on at 20000 now have 77000, runs fine, dealer wanted $800 to change out the catatlytic converter sensors, 4 GET IT.. Do it myself..
If you go to AUTO ZONE for the "free" test , tell the guy you saw it advertised, they did away with the free tests in so.fla., or so they say!!!
But that is usually culprit, cat sensors, means basically nothing, except you might be polluting the air a lil more than Ralph Nader wants you to.
