March 9, 2006Who replaced the RF rotor the first time? Did you receive any type of warranty on the repair?
Have changed anything in the suspension (lifted/lowered), aftermarket wheels/tires? How many miles are on the Expy?
Welcome to the .
You may also want to ask your question in the Expy and Brakes Forum.
Nevernind, I see you did that.
Other Expy owners may have experienced the same issues.
March 9, 2006ok 115,000 miles on 98 expy
firestone : front pads/rotors changed 3 times with warranty
the brake shop : rear rotors/pads twice
poughkeepsie ford: right front hub/wheel bearing
lopes auto : left front hub/wheelbearing
i do have2 new front tires but rear tires might need to be changed
what could be my problem??
also all sensors have been checked
March 9, 2006Other parts of the ABS System, besides the sensors?
March 9, 2006what other parts of the abs should be checked??? what should i tell the mechanic to look for?
March 9, 2006Well if the sensors are new (relatively) then check the other parts of the system.
Have they check to see of if the rotors have warped?
Others have reported that brand new rotor have warped due to being tightened to the wrong torgue specs.
Anybody reply to the questions in the other forums?
March 9, 2006a couple of posted soem stuff but no solutuons yet. i also thought maybe another rotor change even though ive changed them 2 or 3 times after the problem started. but after the bas light went on and the problem went away for an hr i knew it couldnt be the rotors it had to be an electricial or abs problem. but so far no good.
March 9, 2006I had a similar problem with my lincoln.....it was an abs actuator that wasnt working properly and it didnt show up on a diagnostic test.....hope this helps
March 9, 2006hey its worth a shot, so i tell the mechanic to check the abs actuator? how much to replace?
March 9, 2006if you scan the computer a code should pop up for the abs. any warning lights comming on?
March 9, 2006well i had the ford dealer put the expy on its computer and no codes came up, also have it in the shop at another mechanic and he also put it on a computer again with no codes. i have the brake pulsating with no lights, but recently i get the abs light and the problem goes away. but it has only happened 3 times. dont know what else to do.
