October 9, 2008Hey what''''s up? I wanted to see what if any feedback you could give me on getting more horsepower. Im a college student so I need my truck everyday and I can''''t afford to loose major gas mileage **or** have my truck in the shop for more than the weekend. I''''ve got borla exhaust, headers, high flow cats, bbk throttle body, cold air intake, edge evo programmer and new spark plugs. Right now I am looking at some coil packs but which ones are best? I''''ve heard mixed reviews about every single brand out there. I''ve got a 2002 5.4 if that helps any. Thanks for all the help.

October 9, 2008I think you have already done everything possible to add power except electric fans. Everyone says they free up a lot of horsepower and make a noticable difference. The only other thing I can think of would be a major mod like a supercharger.
October 9, 2008yes do the E-fans I put them in mine, and noticed a big diffrence!
October 9, 2008underdrive pullies are nice as well, you can do some internal work like cams, port and polish your heads etc..
October 9, 2008Yeah about those electric fans, one of my buddies works with ford and they''re always working on old auctioned police cruisers and he''s gonna go ahead and give me the e-fans from one of those and about the underdrive pulleys, would they rob me of power from my accessories? I looked into some comp xtreme cams and i''ve got the money and knowledge to get em in but i can''t afford to have my truck out of commission for that long. Maybe this christmas break i''ll be able to get those in but im scared they''ll rob me of gas mileage. Whats your opinion on some coil-over-plugs? I am looking at accel right now but i''ve heard they perform poorly.
October 9, 2008I upgraded to those because I had to, 2 of mine went bad so I went ahead and got new one''s and the guy got me a deal on em.
October 9, 2008Well i''ve been lucky enough to not have any coils go out but i''m gonna go ahead and change them for gas mileage purposes/ power, so i want to be sure which is the best brand to go with. What brand are yours and how long have you had them and how have they performed?
October 9, 2008accel, they are alot better from what I can tell, I have had them for about a year now...
October 9, 2008Oh ok. That''s good to hear because i''ve heard that they go out alot and are cheap quality. Thanks for your help.
October 9, 2008anytime man, Im sure you could find another brand but mine I like!
October 9, 2008my accel coils went out in 3 days
