December 5, 2009Hey stranger nice to see you around here
cold temps will not cause the light to come on. we get temps below zero in the winter and never a problem with it causing the service light to come on.
take it to an auto parts store and ask them to scan it (they do it for free) and they can tell you what is going on.
December 6, 2009Also dont fix it right away, sometimes a code can come on like a freak accident..... I always clear it after I check it and then if it comes back on again then I fix it... Had a code come on in my old F150 turns out it was cause the gas cap wasnt on tight
December 6, 2009thanks for the replies..my husband took it to auto zone to have the censor read and 4 prabable causes came back:
misfire on bank 1
vacuum leak affecting bank 1 only
fuel injector problem bank 1
engine mechanical condition
...could someone please explain to me what these mean...lol
now the fuel injector i know i have been needing to change...
now if it has something to do with the ac would that cause it to come on also?!?
December 8, 2009misfire on bank 1- there is a misfire on that side of the engine
vacuum leak affecting bank 1 only- vacuum leak only effecting that side of the engine.
fuel injector problem bank 1- fuel injector on that side of the engine needs replaced.
engine mechanical condition- mechanical problem such as a bad valve on that side of the engine.
since you know it needs a new injector I dare say that is why the light came on. an A/C problem will not cause the light to come on
