September 10, 2011I have a 1978 F150 and I need to put F250- 350 springs on it because of a diesel swap and it slammed the front down about 2 inches. Does anyone know if dodge springs will fit? I know chevy won`t.

September 10, 2011you need springs out of an f-450 hot shot which was a diesel truck for pulling heavy loads.
all you need is a spring with the same eyelet dimensions. the length of the spring from mounting eye to mounting eye
September 10, 2011I didn`t know they made a F450 back then
September 10, 2011Back in the early `80s the F350s that had the 6.9L diesel had front coil springs. Won`t these fit?
September 10, 2011I think that had leafs on the front. The gas engines had coils. Weird that they would change it up.
September 10, 2011We had 4 of them where I worked they all had coils.
September 11, 2011And they where diesels? wow do you know where to get them? I think I ran out of internet searching for it.
September 11, 2011I just did a quick internet search. JC Whitney has them along with a lot
of other places. There are bunches available on ebay. I think that Ford
started using them on F350s in 1980. Have you thought about using spacers?
They make 2" ones I know, I`m talking about the ones that the coil spring sits in. They make them in rubber and metal.
September 11, 2011I thought about spacers but are they really ok? I need it to have a 6 inch lift still. Ill keep looking.
