December 7, 2012you talking about the rear axle seals? the ones that limit the dif fluid from getting all over the emergency brake housing and shoes?
February 21, 2014no the ones up front for the front axles
July 23, 2014Are you talking about the pumpkins seals or the outer tube seals?
Life is too shsort to do nothing. Get out and enjoy life.
August 21, 2014lots of seals you have the inner seals to keep oil in pumpkin outher dust seals to keep dirt out of the tube and you have the knuckle seal that seals the knuckle to lock in 4wd. if the seal is bad in the knuckle it is most likely from the axle constantly spinning which its not supposed to. only when locked in 4wd
if the axle shaft is tuning during 2wd forward motion you will want to check the small needle bearing in the hub bearing unit. there is a timken replacement for under 10 bucks like part number 1820 or something like that.
what happens is it is not able to be greased and will dry out and seize or drag causing the axle shaft to rotate constantly prematurely wearing out the seal. if you want to search the archives i had more info on here 5 years back or so lol
